When I first started in real estate (years ago), the Realtor was the keeper of information. We knew the price, location, interior details, etc. - Nothing got past us. Now the consumer has access to all of this information, changing the role of the Realtor. But while knowledge is power, it can also be overwhelming.
Are these listings available or pending, who is the listing agent, when can I take a look, and who will show the home? These are a few of the questions that buyers consistently ask after going on Zillow and Realtor.com. This is where your Realtor comes in. Just like the Atlanta attorney says…”One call, that’s all”.
When you secure the services of a Realtor, we take it from there. Here is what that means to you. If you see a great home online, send the listing to your Realtor. If you drive by a house with a sign in the yard, send the address to your Realtor. If you are interested in new construction, write down the name of the community and have your Realtor meet you there. If you see a home being sold by the owner, take down the phone number and have your Realtors call them on your behalf.
These are all situations that may be confusing and stressful for a buyer, but are the job that Realtors are trained to handle. The key is to sit down with your Realtor in the beginning and understand the full range of services they offer and how the process really works.
This will make the job of finding a home much more enjoyable and far less stressful for you.
