Don't Buy Anything

When you are ready to purchase a home, think carefully before you buy anything.

Buying a new home can be one of the most exciting times in anyone’s life. Historically, it is a sign of accomplishing the “American Dream” and most of my buyers really view the home purchase as a sign of accomplishment.

But until all the banks’ paperwork is signed and you have been handed the keys – don’t buy anything. If you are purchasing your home by obtaining a loan – the lender will pull your credit at the beginning of the process and again at the end.

The pull at the beginning is to ensure that you qualify for the loan, and the pull at the end is to make sure that nothing has changed in your financial status since the lender made the decision to give you the loan.

Do not open any new lines of credit or incur any additional debt until you have completed the process and closed on the home. It would be heartbreaking if something as simple as opening a Home Depot account to purchase appliances prevented you from buying your dream home.

Avoid stress and don’t buy anything!
